Of Canada’s top Corvette dealers, Go North Suri GM. And next to me is the 2026 Corvette Stingray. A vehicle upon release shook the industry because of its mid-engine exotic design, naturally American muscle V8, and, of course, its everyday practicality and value from the generations prior. And this 2026 is updated to make everything better.
Front End Design
Starting off at the front, the Corvette has hypercar proportions. It’s low, wide, and sculpted. Up front, you have all these angular designs in the bumper. These LED daytime running lights are now recognizable with the Corvette, and all the gloss black air channels feed air through and around the vehicle to keep it planted. Being a mid-engine vehicle, you also get a front trunk.
Front Trunk
Once you pop it open, you’re greeted with a decent amount of space. You can easily load carry-ons, backpacks, or even a small grocery run here.
Rear Trunk
The rear of the vehicle maximizes storage. Chevrolet made sure you can still fit a full set of golf clubs back here—maybe even two golf bags, depending on how packed they are.
Engine & Exhaust
Something else with this trunk is that you can see the exposed naturally aspirated V8 6.2L engine. This still makes the same 490 horsepower, or 495 with the performance exhaust. The sound never gets old.
Coupe vs Spyder
The coupe can easily show you the engine by lifting up the back end or through the glass panel. If you get the Spider, however, you don’t see the engine as easily, but the retractable roof is a nice feature. The manual roof of the coupe can be stowed in the trunk.
Rear End Design
LED taillights look gorgeous as the car flies by. The quad-tip exhaust stretches out the rear, making the vehicle look wider. To get the quad-tip center exhaust, you’d need to upgrade to the Z06 or ZR1.
Side Profile
The side profile highlights its mid-engine design. Low front overhang and elongated rear are a complete flip from the C7 generation. Wheels are 19 inches in the front, 20 inches in the rear, with Brembo brakes for stopping power. Gloss black accents act as air vents and hide the electronic door handle.
Interior Design
Inside, the Corvette continues to impress. It’s driver-focused, almost overwhelming, but the passenger shares the same design. Seats are wrapped in bold red leather with matching stitching along the console and dash.
Dashboard Design
The dashboard is striking, with aerodynamic-inspired designs flowing into the infotainment system. New for 2026 is an auxiliary display with three features: Trip, Performance, and driver display customization.
Driver Displays
The displays include Touring (blue with tachometer in the middle), Sport (red and aggressive), and Track (prioritizing tire pressure, engine/oil temps, gear, and speed).

The overall design goal for the new Corvette interior was to take what we had before and really enhance the experience. There’s so much attention to detail in the way all the different parts and pieces of the interior come together. We’ve got these beautiful materials, and then we’ve contrasted that with these beautiful displays and all this technology that helps make it very accessible to the driver.
Speed and Exhilaration
The first thing a person should feel when they look at a Corvette is that sense of speed. Obviously, that’s the first impression when you walk up to the exterior of the vehicle. When you slide into the seat for the first time, you kind of want the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up a little bit. You get that sense of exhilaration even when you’re standing still.

Overall design goal for the new Corvette interior: take what we had before and really enhance the experience, update the technology, and increase the comfort. Some of my favorite features of the new interior are the way the displays are seamlessly integrated, flanking the driver. Each one is pointed directly at you. All the controls are right where you expect them to be. Everything’s easy to reach. Your immediate sense is just that you’re in this cocoon of luxury and technology.
Physical Controls and Craftsmanship
The first thing we wanted to do was make sure we had really good physical controls. Your push start button, your transmission controls, and your drive mode controls are laid out really logically right in front of you. Everything’s where you expect it to be. It really is just this awesome celebration of technology and craftsmanship. You can see the attention to detail: real stitching, leather and suede, aluminum, and stainless steel on the speaker grills. All of these things are working together in perfect harmony.
Designed Around the Driver
When we design these cars, we really think about how people are going to be using them. Whether you’re driving it every day, going on a road trip, or taking it out to the track, we laid out that environment so that you’re comfortable. Everything about the car is just built around the driver experience, forming a beautiful sculpture that celebrates the technology.
Performance and Track Capabilities
We know this car is supposed to be fast, especially on the track. PTM (Performance Traction Management) modifies all vehicle subsystems to get the most performance out of the vehicle. Everything from the full HD video out the front of the car to vehicle speed, accelerator, and brake inputs, lateral and longitudinal G-forces helps us show the driver where they can optimize their lap time.
Built-In Driver Coaching
The PDR (Performance Data Recorder) is a built-in data logger that allows drivers to record and output data from track sessions, canyon carving, or dragstrip passes. The latest version includes driver tools to optimize lap time, including a “driver speed tips” function that suggests top opportunities to improve performance. Basically, we’ve built a driver coach right into the car. Corvette has always been driver-focused, ensuring the driver gets exactly what they want in the way they want to see it.
