2025, no, just kidding, 2026 Toyota Camry, because we’ve got a couple of changes. Remember, this was just recently redesigned in 2025. All new outside, inside features, technology, buttons, gadgets, gizmos, and it’s all hybrid. We’ll talk about that, too. But this one, it’s not going to be a lot of changes, but the two changes that I saw are pretty cool. So, I can’t decide which one I like better.
Nightshade Edition Joins the Lineup
First of all, a new Nightshade edition. We see Nightshade across the Toyota lineup, which is great. Midnight black metallic is one of the colors that you’re going to have, but also those dark color accents. You know, Nightshade. It’s going to be in the midnight black metallic exterior cues, which is what Toyota’s calling it. So, let’s talk about that one.
It’s available in supersonic red, ice cap white, and midnight black metallic. It’s accented with several midnight black metallic parts, including the front grill, air curtain, side canards, door handles, mirror caps, shark fin antenna, rear lower sport diffuser, and rear spoiler.
Trim Levels and Drivetrain Options
Is this part of a different trim? No, it’s its own trim level. So, you’ll get five different trims: LE, XLE, Nightshade, XSE, and XLE. So, whichever one of those you want to choose, you can get either one of those in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. So, really 10 different configurations, but five trims.
New Color Addition: Dark Cosmos
Now, let’s talk about the other change. I really, really like this one because normally you don’t expect new colors coming the year after a redesign. But yes, we’ve got Dark Cosmos. So, that’s what Toyota calls a sultry, hazy blue color. Dark Cosmos. I really like that color.
It’s available on the SE, XLE, and XSE. So, you will not find that on Nightshade, and you will not find that on the LE model.
Hybrid Performance and Fuel Economy
Fifth-generation Toyota hybrid system with the 2.5 L 4-cylinder engine. 225 net hybrid horsepower for front-wheel drive and 232 for all-wheel drive. Guys, I think if you haven’t tried it yet, the new Camry is really, really good.
It gets up to 51 MPG combined, depending on which configuration you get. It’ll get high 40s or low 50s, depending on which one you want to get, and I just think that’s fantastic.
Full Color Lineup and Two-Tone Options
Look for ocean gem, heavy metal, ice cap, windchill pearl, celestial silver metallic, and underground. I love underground, midnight black metallic, supersonic red, reservoir blue, and the newly added Dark Cosmos. That’s fantastic.
The XSE grade adds an available two-tone look with ocean gem, windchill pearl, heavy metal, and supersonic red paired with the midnight black metallic roof. I’d like to see that Ocean Gem two-tone color. I think that would look really sweet, actually. And I didn’t mention it before, but the Nightshade trim has 19-inch alloy wheels.
